Software for a laser module is crucial for precise control and customization. It also facilitates integration with other systems and offers enhanced eye safety functions. Below is an overview of our most beneficial software command functionalities.

Continuous Measurements up to 125 Hz – ideal for object tracking

This command enables continuous, uninterrupted measurements at frequencies up to 125Hz for LRF6xxx modules and 40Hz for LRF7047. It is particularly valuable for real-time tracking of moving objects and also supports synchronization with other sensors in the host system, such as cameras, GPS, and more.

Precise Timestamp for accurate synchronisation

Activating a precise timestamp for each measurement is essential for accurate synchronization with other sensors. It also enables detailed time-based analyses, enhancing the overall precision and reliability of data.

Signal Strength indication supports optimization – NEW!

This command provides a feedback of the signal strength with each measurement, supporting integration and optimization. For example, it allows to compare different front windows and helps to identify the one with the best transmission based on the highest signal strength.

“Watchdog” a safety feature – NEW!

The watchdog timer is designed to detect interruptions in the communication to the host system. When activated, it runs in the background. If it fails to receive a proper response from the host system due to a (host) system error, the module will automatically shut down and any laser emission is stopped. This is useful for eye safety, particularly during continuous measurements and pointing with Laser Class 3B.

UART Interface – NEW!

All LRF modules now feature an additional interface option: UART, complementing the existing RS232 and RS422 interfaces.
