Safran Vectronix Privacy Policy
Introduction
Vectronix is committed to safeguarding the privacy of any User of the Digital Platform.
Your access to and use of the Safran Vectronix AG (“Vectronix”, “we”, “us”, “our”) owned websites and pages as well as software tools and apps, the latter downloadable exclusively from Apple Store and Google Store (collectively also referred to as the “Digital Platform”) is subject to the following privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) and all applicable laws.
By using the Digital Platform, you (hereinafter generally referred to as (“User”) agree that this Privacy Policy applies without limitation or qualification and that access is granted to you under the condition of your acceptance of all provisions of this Privacy Policy. Furthermore, the User consents to the collection and processing of Personal Data defined as follows: “Personal Data” means any information identifying or making identifiable, directly or indirectly, an individual, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data or an online identifier.
The Privacy Policy details amongst others Vectronix’ commitment to protect the User’s Personal Data and defines the scope for which Vectronix collects and uses such data. In any case, Vectronix will collect and process the User’s Personal Data in compliance with the provisions of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (“Data Protection Act”) as well as of the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and in accordance with the principles described below.
COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
IF YOU ARE A USER OF THE DIGITAL PLATFORM
Personal Data that Vectronix collects and processes in connection with the Digital Platform includes not only what is actively collected while the User interacts with the Digital Platform, but also what the User voluntarily provides through access and use of the Digital Platform.
In order to improve navigation on the Digital Platform and our services, Vectronix uses the following types of cookies and technologies and collects certain Personal Data during your visit:
In order to improve navigation on its Site, Vectronix uses the following types of cookies and technologies in connection with the Site and collects certain data during your visit:
- TLS encryption: We use HTTPS (the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure stands for “secure hypertext transfer protocol”) to transmit data tap-proof on the internet.
This means that the complete transmission of all data from your browser to Vectronix’ server is secure and nobody can intercept it.
Vectronix has thus introduced an additional layer of security and complies with data protection by design according to art. 25 para. 1 GDPR. By using TLS (Transport Layer Security), an encryption protocol for secure data transmission on the internet, Vectronix can ensure the protection of Personal Data. The use of this data transmission security can be recognized by the small lock symbol at the top left of the browser, to the left of the internet address and the use of the https scheme (instead of http) as part of Vectronix’ internet address. - Cookie Hub Consent Manager: Vectronix uses Cookie Hub Consent Manager, which is a consent management tool, provided by CookieHub ehf with company number 6801211090 of Hafnargata 55, 230 Reykjanesbæ, Iceland. The CookieHub Consent Manager offers to Vectronix, among other things, the possibility to provide the User with a comprehensive and data protection-compliant cookie notice so that the User can decide which cookies to allow and which not. By using this software, data is sent from you to CookieHub and then may be stored, with appropriate technical and organizational security measures applied to it, on its servers in Netherlands. More information can be found on: https://www.cookiehub.com/privacy-policy.
- Cookies: The Digital Platform uses cookies essential to make it workcorrectly and strictly necessary to enable the User to move around the Digital Platform and use its features.
Cookies are small text files that can be sent to the User’s browser for storage on the User’s hard drive or any device used for internet consultation. Cookies can make the use of the Digital Platform easier by saving the User’s status and preferences upon any visit. The cookies are refreshed every time the User enter any of the tools of the Digital Platform. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies, but you may be able to change the settings to refuse cookies or to be alerted when cookies are being sent. The cookies are used to customize some information for the User’s convenience, such as “remembering” the language selected; and in some instances, to associate the User self with the User information, among others the own Personal Data. Although rejection of cookies will not interfere with the User’s ability to interact with most of the tools composing the Digital Platform, it may be needed to accept cookies in order to login and use certain interactive services. - Google Analytics: Vectronix uses Google Analytics, a analysis tracking tool, on the Digital Platform, in the version Google Analytics 4 (GA4) of the American company Google Inc., to analyze the use of the Digital Platform and adapt it to the needs of the Users based on the insights Vectronix has gained from these analyses. For the European area, this service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
Google Analytics uses cookies which will be stored on your end device, and which collect pseudonymous data on your use of the Digital Platform. Such data includes the number of visits to the Digital Platform, time spent on the Digital Platform and how you interact with the Digital Platform, for example when and which page you load, which links you have clicked, whether you have searched for something and what you have searched, downloaded specific content or subscribed to Vectronix newsletter. We can track your interactions (so-called events) with the Digital Platform by using tags that allow us to mark the interactions we want to track as a specific event. Whenever your interaction with the Digital Platform is marked as an event, a tag is fired, and the respective event data is sent to Google Analytics. Google Analytics further collects data about your geographic location (such as the city) based on your IP address and data about your end device (including the device model and screen resolution).
By default, GA4 data is stored for 14 months.
According to Google, no IP addresses are logged or stored in GA4. However, Google uses the IP addresses to derive location data and deletes them immediately afterwards. All IP addresses collected from users in the EU are therefore deleted before the data is stored in a data center or on a server. - Google Ads: Vectronix has integrated Google Ads (formerly known as Google AdWords), a service of Google Inc (1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA; “Google”), on the Digital Platform. Google Ads is an internet advertising service that allows advertisers to place ads in Google’s search engine results as well as in the Google advertising network. Google Ads enables an advertiser to specify certain keywords in advance, by means of which an ad is only displayed in Google’s search engine results if the User uses the search engine to retrieve a keyword-relevant search result. In the Google advertising network, the ads are distributed to relevant websites using an automatic algorithm and taking into account the previously defined keywords.
As part of Google Ads, Vectronix uses what is known as conversion tracking. When the User clicks on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify the User. If the User visits certain pages of the Digital Platform and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and Vectronix can recognize that the User clicked on the ad and was redirected to these pages.
The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are told the total number of Users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify Users.
If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by easily deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. You can find more information about Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of the Digital Platform may be restricted. - Google Tag Manager: Vectronix uses Google Tag Manager, a platform / code management tool, which does not collect itself any Personal Data, but causes the triggering of other tags, which may contain the User’s data. However, Google Tag Manager does not access this data.
This service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland and is operated on behalf of Vectronix and in accordance with Vectronix’ instructions.
Google Tag Manager is a service we use to embed other technologies and services such as Google Analytics on the Digital Platform. In this case, Google Tag Manager is merely used for managing and delivering the technologies embedded by it (via tags). This means that Google Tag Manager itself does not create any user profiles, does not store any cookies and does not conduct any independent analyses.
However, Google Tag Manager does collect your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google’s parent company, Google LLC in the USA, and to third countries not covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. The European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision in line with art. 45 para. 1 GDPR for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which serves as the basis for data transfers to certified companies and organizations in the US. Google LLC is a certified company under the EU-US as well as Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/list.
In other cases, Google will use standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission as per art. 46 para. 2(c) GDPR to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
Your personal data will be stored for this purpose for a period of 14 days. After this period, the data is deleted and only aggregated statistics are retained.
Vectronix uses Google Tag Manager based on your consent, art. 6 para. 1(a) GDPR. This legal basis also covers the processing of your personal data for the aforementioned purposes.
You can withdraw your consent with effect for the future at any time by making the corresponding changes to your Cookies Settings. - reCAPTCHA: Vectronix uses reCAPTCHA, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. reCAPTCHA assists us in preventing the automatic, computer-controlled completion of forms and thus improper behavior on the Digital Platform and in connection with our services. In addition, captchas – tasks which can be easily solved by humans but not by bots – are displayed (for example by clicking a check box and providing additional information as needed).
Google will collect your device and Personal Data when you access the Digital Platform to subscribe to the newsletter. reCAPTCHA tracks your interactions with the Digital Platform, including mouse movements, keystrokes and time spent on the Digital Platform. In addition, Vectronix will process your IP address, the referrer URL (the address of the previously visited website), information on your operating system and the settings on your end device, in particular your language settings and location-related data.
reCAPTCHA uses this data to conduct a risk analysis and uses a probability value to calculate whether a human user or a bot is accessing the Digital Platform. We receive this evaluation from Google in order for us to evaluate the corresponding interaction on the Digital Platform.
Google deposits a cookie in your browser to provide the risk analysis.
Please note that Google shares the aforementioned data on your use of the Digital Platform (including the information generated by the cookie) within the Google group of companies and with other third parties. This leads to a transfer of personal data to the US, in particular to the Google LLC, and to third countries not covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Data Privacy Framework. In other cases, Google will use standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission as per art. 46 para. 2(c) GDPR to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
Additional information can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
The forwarding of data to Google and any storage of information on your end device or access to such information necessary for this are essential in order for us to provide you with your expressly requested telemedia service, i.e., the use of the Digital Platform. Consent for this is therefore not required in accordance with the laws of the EU member states on the implementation of EU Directive 2002/58/EC governing the protection of your privacy and electronic communication, amended by EU Directive 2009/136/EC (for example, Section 25 para. 2 no. 1 of the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG)). The associated processing of Personal Data is based on our legitimate interest in protecting our Users from spam, fraud and other improper behavior on the Digital Platform and in connection with the services Vectronix offers, art. 6 para. 1(f) GDPR. - Google Maps: Vectronix uses Google Maps, an online map service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, USA (“Google”), to provide interactive maps on the Digital Platform. Google collects your usage data, such as the referrer URL or the IP address, when you access the Digital Platform. Google will also process data for its own purposes, such as the provision or improvement of the service, and is thus the controller for the data processing.
You can find the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
Your Personal Data are processed in the US. The European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision in line with art. 45 para. 1 GDPR for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which serves as the basis for data transfers to certified companies and organizations in the US. Google is a certified company under the EU-US as well as Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Data Privacy Framework.
In order for us to send you advertising information, we process your e-mail address, country and language and, if necessary, forward them to the following companies on the basis of your consent (art. 6 para. 1(a) GDPR). - SEO: Vectronix uses the analysis tool Yoast SEO WordPress plug-in for the Digital Platform. The service provider is the Dutch company Yoast BV, Don Emanuelstraat 3, 6602 GX Wijchen, Netherlands. You can find out more about the data processed through the use of Yoast SEO WordPress plug-in in the privacy policy at https://yoast.com/privacy-policy/.
- WordPress: Vectronix uses the WordPress.com content management system (CMS) for the Digital Platform. The service provider is the American company Automattic Inc, 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA. This CMS is software that supports us in designing the Digital Platform and presenting content in an attractive and organized manner. The content can be text, audio and video. By using WordPress, your Personal Data may also be collected, stored and processed. Usually, mainly technical data such as operating system, browser, screen resolution or hosting provider are stored. However, Personal Data such as IP address, geographical data or contact details may also be processed. WordPress can also use cookies to collect data. This often includes data about your behavior on the Digital Platform. For example, it may record which subpages you particularly like to view, how long you spend on individual pages, when you leave a page (bounce rate) or which default settings (e.g. language selection) you have made. Based on this data, WordPress can also better adapt its own marketing measures to your interests and user behavior.
WordPress may also use technologies such as pixel tags (web beacons), for example to clearly identify you as a user and possibly offer interest-based advertising.
The data is stored on Automattic’s American servers and is generally deleted when it is no longer needed for our own purposes.
If you have consented to the use of WordPress, the legal basis for the corresponding data processing is this consent. According to art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, this consent constitutes the legal basis for the processing of personal data, as may occur when WordPress is used.
WordPress or Automattic processes your data also in the USA. Automattic is an active participant in the EU-US as well as Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures the correct and secure transfer of Personal Data. - Facebook and Instagram: Vectronix wants to ensure that the ads are only shown to Users who are interested in our advertising information. This is why we use Facebook services as well as plug-ins to offer you a better User experience on the Digital Platform and to show you personalized advertising. For Users outside the US and Canada, the operator of Facebook and Instagram is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. For Users in the US and Canada, the operator is Meta Platforms Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA.
If you have a Facebook or Instagram profile, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited can match this data with the information Facebook/Instagram has already stored about you. Where applicable, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited may also merge this data with other data.
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited may share your information within the Meta group of companies or with other third parties. This may lead to a transfer of personal data to the US, in particular to the Meta Platforms, Inc., and to third countries not covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. The European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision in line with art. 45 para. 1 GDPR for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which serves as the basis for data transfers to certified companies and organizations in the US. Meta Platforms, Inc. is a certified company under the EU-US as well as Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. In other cases, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited will use standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission as per art. 46 para. 2(c) GDPR to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

You can find more information on how each of the plug-ins is used at:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plug-ins - LinkedIn: Digital Platform uses the LinkedIn Tracking Pixel, a web analysis service provided by LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, California 94043, USA.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag sets a cookie in the User’s browser. LinkedIn uses this to collect data such as URL, referrer URL, device properties, browser properties and IP address.
LinkedIn anonymizes the data within 7 days. Within 90 days, it deletes this data again. Vectronix does not receive any Personal Data, only summarized reports about the demographics of your target group and the performance of the Digital Platform content.
As part of this service, data is transferred to the USA or the possibility of such a transfer cannot be ruled out.
Your data will be processed on the basis of your consent in accordance with art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can withdraw this consent at any time for the future in the Digital Platform cookie management tool by rejecting the marketing cookies. However, the withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to that point.
LinkedIn members also have the option to opt out of LinkedIn conversion tracking and to block and delete cookies and/or disable demographic features at https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/advertising/. There is no separate opt-out option for third-party impressions or click tracking for campaigns running on LinkedIn in the LinkedIn settings, as all underlying campaigns respect the settings of LinkedIn members.
Vectronix uses the LinkedIn tracking pixel to analyze the use of the Digital Platform and to improve it regularly. Based on the resulting statistics, Vectronix can improve its offer and make it more interesting for you.
Vectronix uses social plug-ins from the social media network LinkedIn on the Digital Platform. For Switzerland, the company LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company Wilton Place in Dublin is responsible for data processing. For reasons of efficiency, Vectronix has created the option on its Digital Platform to share interesting content directly on LinkedIn or to refer directly to our LinkedIn page. The data that LinkedIn collects also helps Vectronix to show possible advertising measures only to people who are interested by our offer.
LinkedIn does not store any Personal Data just by integrating social plug-ins. LinkedIn calls this data, which is generated by plug-ins, passive impressions. However, if you click on a social plug-in, for example to share our content, the LinkedIn platform stores Personal Data as so-called “active impressions”. This is regardless of whether you have a LinkedIn account or not. If you are logged in, the data collected will be assigned to your account.
In addition to your IP address, this may include, for example, login data, device information or information about your internet or mobile service provider.
You have the right to access and delete your Personal Data at any time. You can manage, modify and delete your data in your LinkedIn account. You can also request a copy of your Personal Data from LinkedIn. You can also prevent LinkedIn from processing your data in your browser. LinkedIn stores most data using cookies that are set in your browser. You can manage, disable or delete these cookies. Depending on which browser you use, the administration works slightly differently. You will find the corresponding links to the instructions for the most common browsers under the “Cookies” section. You can also set up your browser so that you are always informed when a cookie is about to be placed. You can then decide on a case-by-case basis whether you want to allow the cookie or not.
LinkedIn processes your data, inter alia, in the United States. LinkedIn is an active participant in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which regulates the correct and secure transfer of Personal Data of EU citizens to the United States. For more information, please visit https://commission.europa.eu/document/fa09cbad-dd7d-4684-ae60-be03fcb0fddf_en.

Through the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses, LinkedIn commits to complying with the European level of data protection when processing your relevant data.
